Observations

RoW well maintained. The RoW was clear and free from brush. Signage was located at the appropriate locations and also had the required information which indicated the company name, warning, type of commodity and emergency number.

-Pipeline is inspected twice a year, spring and fall. Crews are also on site daily walking the RoW.

-Reviewed Venturions O&M Crossing Agreements and Public Awareness Program and appear to be adequate. Venturion has not been involved with any crossing activity for this location.

-No unauthorized activity to report in the area. Pipeline RoW is on crown land.

-RoW is on crown land and Venturion Oil works with the Ban Tribes on their Public Awareness program either by face to face or mail. Some Ban Tribes work with Venturion Oil.

Observed a Venturion Oil abandoned pipeline with old signage from the previous owner. Venturion Oil is requested to have the signs updated with the new owners information located at 10 28 85 13W6 as required by CSA Z662 15

10.5.3.3
Signs shall include the following information, printed on a background of sharply contrasting colour:
a) the word “Warning”*, “Caution”*, or ”Danger”* prominently displayed, in 25 mm high, bold lettering;
b) the type of pipeline system, such as “High-Pressure Natural Gas Pipeline”†, prominently displayed in 13 mm high bold lettering; and
c) the name of the operating company and emergency notification information, including an emergency telephone number with area code.
* The equivalent French wording is “Avertissement“, “Attention”, or “Danger“, respectively.
† The equivalent French wording is “Canalisation de gaz naturel à haute pression“.
Note: It is recommended that
a) signs include a statement such as “Call before you dig” (equivalent French wording: “Téléphoner avant de creuser”) or “Call for locate” (equivalent French wording: “Téléphoner pour repérer“); and
b) consideration be given also to including the required information in a language appropriate to the region in which the sign is located.

iv) drainage systems;
v) irrigation systems; and
vi) other anticipated third-party activity.

NEB inspector requires notification, in writing and photographic evidence, no later than December 18, 2015 to confirm that the signage has been replaced to reflect the current owner and that missing signage on the roadway is installed, location 10 28 85 13W6.

This notice reflects the observations of non-compliance with regulatory requirements or company commitments, made by the inspection officer during the compliance verification activity. If the corrective actions identified are implemented by the completion date, the matter is considered resolved. Any unresolved compliance matters will be addressed by the inspection officer and may be referred to NEB enforcement staff.
