Issue a decision on the issuance of a short-term natural gas import or export order within 2 business days of receipt of complete application.
The target for achieving this standard is set at 100% under normal circumstances.
Performance results are calculated on a calendar-year basis.

2013 – Note: The target was not met due to an error in application delivery; the issue was identified and resolved.
2014 – Note: The target for issuing a decision of a short-term natural gas import or export order within 2 business days was not met in one case due to mailroom error.

The NEB’s assessment of applications for short-term natural gas import and export orders includes an evaluation of applicant information. There may be circumstances where confirmation of acceptability of the application requires additional evaluation by the NEB. In such circumstances, the NEB may require additional time to make a decision on issuance of an order. In these cases, the NEB will keep the applicant advised of the anticipated timeline for completion of the assessment.
